ابْنُ الشَّجَرِيِّ هِبَةُ اللهِ بنُ عَلِيِّ بنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الهَاشِمِيُّ
العَلاَّمَةُ، شَيْخ النُّحَاة، أَبُو السَّعَادَاتِ هِبَةُ اللهِ بنُ عَلِيِّ بنِ مُحَمَّدِ بنِ حَمْزَةَ بنِ عَلِيٍّ الهَاشِمِيُّ، العَلَوِيُّ، الحَسَنِيّ، البَغْدَادِيّ، مِنْ ذُرِّيَّة جَعْفَر بن الحَسَنِ بنِ الحَسَنِ بنِ عَلِيِّ بنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ.
قَالَ ابْنُ النَّجَّارِ: ابْن الشَّجرِيِّ شَيْخ وَقته فِي مَعْرِفَةِ النَّحْو، دَرَّسَ الأَدب طول عُمُرِهِ، وَكثر تَلاَمِذته، وَطَالَ عُمُرُهُ، وَكَانَ حَسَنَ الخُلُقِ، رفِيقاً.رَوَى عَنْ: أَبِي الحُسَيْنِ المُبَارَك بن الطُّيُوْرِيّ كِتَاب (المَغَازِي) لِسَعِيْدِ بنِ يَحْيَى الأُمَوِيّ.
قرَأَ عَلَيْهِ: ابْن الخَشَّاب، وَابْن عَبْدَةَ، وَالتَّاج الكِنْدِيُّ، وَأَبُو الحَسَنِ بن الزَّاهِدَة.
وَرَوَى عَنْهُ أَيْضاً: عَبْد المَلِكِ بن المُبَارَكِ القَاضِي، وَأَحْمَد بن يَحْيَى بنِ الدَّبِيْقِيّ، وَسُلَيْمَان بن مُحَمَّدٍ المَوْصِلِيّ، وَعَبْد اللهِ بن عُثْمَانَ البَيِّع، وَآخَرُوْنَ.
قَالَ السَّمْعَانِيُّ: كَانَ نَقيب الطَّالبيين بِالكَرْخ نِيَابَة عَنْ وَلد الطَّاهِر، وَكَانَ أَحَدَ أَئِمَّة النُّحَاة، لَهُ مَعْرِفَةٌ تَامَة بِاللُّغَةِ وَالنَّحْو، وَلَهُ تَصَانِيْف، وَكَانَ فَصِيْحاً، حُلْو الكَلاَم، حسن البيَان وَالإِفهَام، قرَأَ الحَدِيْث عَلَى جَمَاعَة مِنَ المُتَأَخِّرِيْنَ مِثْل أَبِي الحُسَيْنِ بنِ الطُّيُوْرِيِّ، وَأَبِي عَلِيٍّ بنِ نَبْهَانَ، كَتَبْتُ عَنْهُ.
وَقَالَ الكَمَال عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ بن مُحَمَّدٍ الأَنْبَارِيّ : شَيْخنَا أَبُو السَّعَادَاتِ كَانَ فَرِيْد عصره، وَوحيد دَهْره فِي علم النَّحْو، أَنحَى مَنْ رَأَينَا، وَآخِرَ مَنْ شَاهِدنَا مِنْ حُذَاقهِم وَأَكَابِرهِم، وَعَنْهُ أَخذت النَّحْو، وَكَانَ تَامّ المَعْرِفَة بِاللُّغَةِ، أَخَذَ عَنْ أَبِي المُعَمَّر بن طَبَاطَبَا، وَصَنَّفَ، وَأَملَى كِتَاب
(الأَمَالِي) ، وَهُوَ كِتَاب نَفِيْس يَشتمل عَلَى فُنُوْنٍ، وَكَانَ فَصِيْحاً، حُلْو الكَلاَم، وَقُوْراً، ذَا سَمتٍ، لاَ يَكَاد يَتَكَلَّم فِي مَجْلِسِهِ بكلمَة إِلاَّ وَتتضمن أَدب نَفْس أَوْ أَدب درس، وَلَقَدِ اخْتصم إِلَيْهِ علويَان، فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا: قَالَ لِي: كَذَا وَكَذَا.قَالَ: يَا بُنَيَّ احْتمل، فَإِنَّ الاحْتِمَال قَبْر المعَايب.
قَالَ ابْنُ خَلِّكَانَ : لمَا فَرغ ابْن الشَّجَرِيِّ مِنْ كِتَاب (الأَمَالِي ) ، أَتَاهُ ابْن الخَشَّاب لِيَسْمَعَهُ، فَامْتَنَعَ، فَعَادَاهُ، وَرد عَلَيْهِ فِي أَمَاكن مِنَ الكِتَاب، وَخَطَّأَه، فَوَقَفَ ابْن الشَّجَرِيِّ عَلَى رده، فَأَلف كِتَاب (الانتصَارِ) فِي ذَلِكَ.
قَالَ: وُلِدَتْ فِي رَمَضَانَ، سَنَةَ خَمْسِيْنَ وَأَرْبَعِ مائَةٍ.
تُوُفِّيَ: فِي السَّادِس وَالعِشْرِيْنَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ، سَنَة اثْنَتَيْنِ وَأَرْبَعِيْنَ وَخَمْسِ مائَةٍ، وَدُفِنَ بدَاره، وَإِنَّمَا سَمِعَ الحَدِيْث فِي كُهُولَته.
